By Obemeata Alex

Corps Member, Ejindu Ruth  Isioma with Code number KT/23B/0873  attached to Government College (Day Wing) Katsina, has executed a personal Community Development Project by renovating an abandoned Classroom in the School of her primary assignment and converting it into a Clinic for the School use.
Commissioning the project on Wednesday 29th May 2024, Corps Member Ejindu Ruth Isioma disclosed that She embarked on the project out of empathy and inquisitiveness
Ruth explained that while doing her duties in her place of Primary Assignment, She observed that some of the students are usually sent home when they sustain minor injuries that demand simple first aid attention and that some with minor sicknesses like headaches are always abandoned without attention or treatment
She said when she found out and discovered that the place the School called  the clinic was a small Store room with little or nothing called first aid materials, no drugs, and no space for even up to two students to go in at once, in short, a mockery of a Clinic
She said looking at the School population of over six thousand students, she had no option but to take it up on herself to start the project
According to Ruth, providing a place for the School for a Clinic for the teaming Student population to take care of their minor health problems gave her a sigh of relief
Ejindu Ruth used the opportunity to call on the government of Katsina State and the Katsina philanthropist to come to the aid of the School by donating drugs to keep the Clinic going
Speaking at the Commissioning, the NYSC Katsina State Coordinator Hajiya Aisha Muhammad who was represented at the event by the head of CDS Alhaji Sumaila Suleiman called the School Authority and other stakeholders to always support the Corps Members when they come up with proposals for projects like the one Ruth was Commissioning
The Coordinator urges the rest Corps Members to emulate the ingenuity and innovation of Ejindu Ruth Isioma and carry out similar CDS in their various communities and PPAs
Receiving the project, the Principal of the School Alhaji Ibrahim Danzaria was full of happiness and joy and thanked the Corps Member and the NYSC for the wonderful CDS programme. He also thanked the various sponsors of the project mentioned by the Corps Member who donated drugs and money for the Corps Member to be able to execute the project
He prayed fervently for God's intervention in the life of the Corps Member and for the NYSC to continue to wax stronger and stronger in the discharge of its mandate of uniting the Nation. In attendance were the NYSC officials, the School teachers and Students, Representatives of the Ministry of Education and the Authorities of Katsina State Primary Health Care Agency Highlight was the official Commissioning of the project and handing over to the School Authority
