WIFE AND CHILDHOOD FRIEND ON THE FRONTLINE FOR RABE NASIR ASSASSINATION
More than 19 Months of late Rabe Nasir assassination, the police have made some shocking arrest in the investigation of the murder of Katsina state’s commissioner for science, technology and innovation, Alhaji Rabe Nasir. The deceased’s wife, Binta Rabe Nasir and his childhood friend, Yushau Abubakar Mani were arrested, arraigned before a Magistrate Court and remanded in custody as prime suspects in the murder of the former commissioner. According Police Public Relations Officer ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, the arrest was due to court order they have received and arraigned them to court
If recalled, on the 9th of December, 2021, Katsina went into a shocking mourning state after the reported assassination of the state’s Commissioner for Science and Technology Rabe Nasir. He was reported murdered in his private residence at Fatima Shema Housing Estate in Katsina on a cold Thursday evening.
A former State Security Service officer during his life time, Late Rabe also worked with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Abuja. Former NASS member represented Mani/Bindawa Federal Constituency at the National Assembly from 2007 to 2011.
Rabe was Former Governor Aminu Masari’s special adviser on science and technology from 2015 to 2019 from where he was elevated to the position of a commissioner.
We also gathered that, the deceased, Rabe and his first wife, Binta Rabe have been married for 38 years and they have children and grandchildren together, so also, the deceased and Yusha’u Abubakar Mani were friends since early adolescence, they attended the same secondary school and proceeded to the university together.
