FUNTUA ABATTOIR REACHS ADVANCE STAGE OF COMPLETION

The Funtua semi- modern Abattoir is under going another round of rehabilitation.The rehabilitation is being handle by the Federal Government in collaboration with Katsina State government. It could be recalled that the Funtua Abattoir was rehabilitated by Masari led administration six to seven years ago
A visit to the Abattoir indicated that the ongoing repairs of the Abattoir reached advanced stage of completion.According to the contractor handling the project Sa'id Badamasi the project consists of renovation of the main slaughter room,fixing of dilapidated doors, windows, burglars and construction of drainages.Others are wall tiling, supply of water system in the Abattoir and repairs of boreholes and repaintings of the Abattoir. Sa'id Badamasi said "the Abattoir was in total dilapidation with absolute equipment that are now being replace by the company handling the renovation work".
During a visit to the Abattoir by our Reporter to ascertain the progress of the renovation project it was observed that the project is progressing successfully.It was also observed the work is of good quality compared to the previous repairs. Speaking to some Butchers at the Abattoir to hear their views on the project they expressed gratitude to the federal government for the renovation of the Abattoir for the second time. One of the Butchers Mallam Isah Greda said the on going rehabilitation is better and qualitative then the previous renovation carried out by an indigenous contractor. Others who spoke during the interview are Dan Asabe and Haruna mai Hanji who praised both the federal and state governments and company handling the project for a job well done. The Sarkin fawa Funtua Alh Abdullahi Maiwada said the renovation of the Abattoir Will enable them provide healthy meat to the people in the locality for a healthy living. He advised Government to always award contracts to capable contractors who can execute quality projects.
