JOURNALIST PLAY ROLE IN THE SUCCESSFUL CONDUCT OF THE 2023 GENERAL ELECTIONS - Kanwan Katsina
Journalist in Katsina State has been commended for their role in the successful conduct of the 2023 general elections.
The Kanwan Katsina District Head of Ketare Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara made the commendation when the executive of the Nigeria Union of Journalist NUJ Katsina State Council paid him a courtesy visit in his palace.
He said journalist in the state played a vital role of educating and enlightening the voters on voting process, PVC registration and collection and the importance of a hitch free elections.
Similarly, the monarch said the working journalist has respected the mandate of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC in the area of voting process, result collation and declaration of result.
Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara commended how team of journalist traveled far and wide the nooks and crannies of the state to provide real time reportage of the process.
The Kanwan Katsina while congratulating the executives, who were sworn in for tenure of three years in office, urges them to justify the confidence repose on them.
While welcoming them to the palace of the district head of Ketare, the traditional ruler said he feel honored how the entire executive of the NUJ paid him a courtesy visit to welcome him back from a trip to Saudi Arabia for Lesser Hajj.
Earlier the Chairman of the Katsina state council of the NUJ Comrade Tukur Hassan Dan Ali said they were at the Ketare District Head Palace to facilitate with him on safe return from his travels and as part of the celebration of the word Press Freedom Day. 
Similarly the Chairman said since the inauguration, the executive members could not present themselves on official capacity to the royal father to seek for continued support and advice as always.
Comrade Dan Ali said journalist in Katsina State has a good track record of working relationship with the Government, traditional institutions, security agencies, business community and the general public.
