Insecurity in Katsina : COMMISSION OF INQUIRY CONDUCTS PUBLIC HEARING IN BAKORI

The commission of enquiry set up by Katsina State Government to investigate the remote cause of the bandits attack on some communities in Bakori and  Kankara local governments areas has conducted public hearing on the incidence that led to the mass killing of people in the villages. The commission  was headed by Justice  Abbas Abdullah Bawale. Other members of the commission include Special Adviser on Security to katsina State Governor Alh Ibrahim Katsina, S.A higher education Alh Bishir Ruwan  Godiya,former AIG Danlami 'Yar'dua, chairmen of  Bakori and Kankara local governments.  Others are representatives of Ministry of Justice,Nigerian Bar Association in Funtua zone and Faculty of Law from Umaru Musa' Yar'adua University as well as representative of the Emir of Katsina in person of Kauran Katsina district head of Rimi.The rest are District  heads of Bakori ,Tsiga,Kankara and Ketare respectively. The families of those killed from Kandarawa, Guga,Garangozi and Unguwar Baushe were also present at the sitting. 
The  hearing took place at Bakori local government sectariat. 
Addressing the gathering, the chairman of the commission Justice Abbas Abdullahi Bawale said "the mission of the commission is to find out the real cause of the attack that led to the killing of innocent citizens.  Also to find out how many people were killed, how many were injured and forward solutions to the problem to forestall future occuarnce". Justice Abbas Bawale added that, the commission will also advise government on how to assist the families of the victims.
So also, during the hearing, the council chairmen of Bakori Ali Mamman Maicitta and that of Kankara Alhaji Anas narrated measures  taken by the local governments   during the incidence.They praised to State Government for the setting up of the judicial commission of enquiry and hoped that the informations gathered by the commission will be use on tackling insecurity issues in Katsina State.
The security agents of police ,Civil defence, vigilantes and civilian JTF gave various submission to the commission on how the incidence happened and measures to be taken to stop future occurrence. And some of the families of those killed advised government to either disbanded Gidan Gwanki and Gidan Gamji villages or relocates them to another place for peace to reign in the areas.The families of the Victims including vigilantes and yansakai strongly accused people of these  villages for working with bandits to cause trouble in the locality.
On his side, the S. A of security to Governor Masari Alhaji Ibrahim Katsina advised vigilantes to always work with the security agents before confronting  hoodlums. He cautioned people against unnecessary  confrontation with the bandits to avoid death and blood shed.He said all the informations gathered during the sittings will be use by the state government to end insecurity in the state.
