JNI CHARGE JIGAWA STATE FARMERS IN PAYING ZAKAT

Despite occurrence of rainstorm and flood disastr in the recent year, sufficient rain in the period help in harvesting of adequate farm produce in numerous areas which JNI in Jigawa State commisertes with flood affected community and pray for better replacement of what was lost.
As usual JNI remind wealthy Muslims and those blessed to own amount of money or harvested farm produce reach Nisab they are obediently binding to give out ZAKAT of what are in their possession .
As Zakat is one of the five pillars of Islam and an obligatory duty of all Muslims possessed Nisab. 2.5% out of total amount is required to be paid, while for agricultural products is 10% to be given out as Zakat.
Similarly the period of farm produces harvesting in many Jigawa State communities happen to come with bad experience of misunderstanding between farmers and herders that in most cases resulted to depriving living in peace among them and sometime lead to the use of weapons in comflicts, which at end cause loss of lives destruction of properties and force other to dislodge themselves from the area of their residence.
For mitigation of occurrence of that, farmers and herders are need to be guided by the principle of law and the importance of living in peace.
