IS THIS CAMPAIGN FOR ELECTIONS IN A MASK OR CHANGE OF THE POLITICAL PARTY Katsina State in a benchmark
According to the law of the Independent National Electoral Commission, that is, INEC, a party or a candidate is not allowed to campaign for elections except within 90 days of the conduct of the election. Violation of this policy or law is a criminal offense that may result in penalties for the party or the candidate or both.
But is this law being followed or are there those who complain about it or follow other wisdoms and strategies to avoid that judgment? You know it is said that a Nigerian has the ability to be wise and cunning to see that he breaks the law but he cannot be punished for tampering with evidence.
In this strong wind and when the 2023 political wind is trying to blow, some parties or their supporters have already started shaking the branches that will cause the wind to blow even before the time has come.
We will look at what is happening in other states where we have put Katsina State as a benchmark to find out how the situation is progressing. Is this law being followed or not? According to what is happening among the politicians, especially the candidates who are waiting for the election, there are some strategies that they have introduced which is similar to their campaign or the desire to change the political party from some who are seen as having political influence, although looking for such people is something that politics is about. In some cases, you will even see that the political party that owns the government is making such an attempt.
But it is a question about what is happening now that a candidate will travel to a place and gather people for him to make speeches like in the election campaign to those who voted for him in the primaries. But he has already stated his goals before holding that election that is linked. In some cases, it should be said, "We are asking for support so that we can go together to save... from the current situation.
In the matter of changing the party, it is a common thing that most of those who have lost in the election do to show their anger and their complaints." We were deceived, we were not treated fairly, we were cheated" and other expressions, that is what they used to said. But they often forget that in the past, they say that whoever wins among us we will support him. This time aroud, new generation(Youths) or new political parties are more focused on making this change. They have forgotten that any vision they have, especially of what they will get, has already been given to others, but they are waiting to hear about the election. Also, they did not get the necessary experience in the political affairs, so they imitated the old hands for the movement. Although, it will not be quick to judge the judges for what may happen in the future, but there are certainly signs of regret on their part, especially if they are defeated in the place they have returned to, even though it is common in politics that favors with different benefit.
